The Green Lake Neighborhood

“Seattle’s Most Active Park Neighborhood”

Current Green Lake Listings:

Green Lake is one of Seattle's most beloved neighborhoods — and it's easy to see why. Built around a stunning 50,000-year-old glacial lake, this north Seattle community sits just six miles from downtown and offers a rare blend of natural beauty, active living, and genuine neighborhood charm that keeps residents here for life.

At the heart of it all is Green Lake Park, often called the "Central Park" of Seattle. The park's 2.8-mile paved loop is the city's most popular path for walkers, runners, and cyclists, while the lake itself beckons swimmers. Add in tennis courts, pickleball courts, soccer fields, a pitch-and-putt golf course, and wide grassy lawns, and you have a front yard that most neighborhoods can only dream about.

Historically, Green Lake hosted the Aqua Follies featuring two 40’ high dives and hydroplane racing as a centerpiece of Seafair. The Green Lake Aqua Theater also hosted Led Zeppelin in 1969!

Step beyond the park and you'll find a walkable, vibrant neighborhood packed with locally loved coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, and fitness studios. Gregg's Greenlake Cycle, Duke's Chowder House, and the historic Carnegie branch library are just a few neighborhood staples. Woodland Park Zoo borders the neighborhood to the southwest, making this one of the most family-friendly addresses in the city. The Green Lake Crew house is one of the most robust in the northwest with a hub of activity on the lake. Runners find the lake a haven at The Seattle Green Lake Running Club and you can find a number of 5k runs throughout the year. Stores like Super Jock & Jill and Road Runner Sports serve runners well.

Around the Green Lake Loop you will find the Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool, performances at the Green Lake Bathhouse Theater, the Green Lake Pitch and Putt golf course. In addition, you may catch soccer, lacrosse, baseball & softball, the skatepark, tennis courts and a pump track over at Lower Woodland. Above, Woodland Park even has a lawn bowling club and picnic shelters.

Kids have a great time at the Green Lake Wading Pool on the North side and the play structure next to the community center.

Seniors retire in style at The Hearthstone Green Lake offering independent and assisted living to those 62 and over!

Why I love Green Lake: Green Lake has offered me and my family so much. It started with running the lake, swimming on a hot day, we routinely bike around the lake, I have coached youth basketball for the community center, watching our kids and neighbors play sports, and the pitch and put par 3 golf is fantastic.
